Porcelain Veneers

Before and after veneer treatment

Porcelain veneers are thin slips of porcelain shaped like a fingernail that are bonded to the teeth. They are particulary useful in restoring the front teeth and for problems such as gaps, misaligned teeth, chipped teeth, whitening teeth and correcting tooth discolouration. They can be used to give that "Hollywood Smile".

They are very natural looking and extremely strong. Because they are made from glazed porcelain, they are very smooth and resist staining. Their usual life span is around 10 to 15 years.

Two appointments are usually required to make veneers. During the first appointment the teeth are prepared and a precise impression is taken. Our approved laboratory hand crafts the veeners by building up layers of porcelain on a model made from the impression.

During the fabrication of the veneers, temporary veneers may be placed to keep the teeth covered and protected.

At the second appointment the veneers are tried on to ensure not only precise fit but also to make sure the colour is correct. They are then bonded onto the tooth using a very strong adhesive.

Bridges

Before and after a bridge is placed

Bridges are used to fill the space created when a tooth is lost or a gap is naturally present.

One or more teeth either side of the gap are used to anchor the bridge.

Using bridges, the smile can be restored where gaps are present and can be used to help restore the bote so that food can be eaten properly.

They are very strong, durable and natural looking and feel very comfortable.

Two appointments are usually required to make the bridge.

During the first visit, the teeth either side are prepared to a conical shape and a few impressions are taken. A temporary bridge or a temporary crown are sometimes fitted to protect the teeth.

At the second visit, the bridge is tried on to ensure a perfect fit and then cemented into place using a very strong adhesive.

Bridges can be made from a variety of materials.

Where aesthetics are most important, for example at the front of the mouth, the most natural looking bridge can be made entirely from very strong porcelain. Because no metal is used, light cab travel through like healthy teeth, giving the bridge a very life like colour and appearance.

Fillings

Composite filling (tooth colour)

White fillings are made from composite resins, which are newer, advanced materials that have two main advantages over amalgam (silver) fillings.

They can be matched to the tooth colour of the tooth being restored, giving you a more aeshetic finished result. It can also be bonded to the tooth structure making the tooth almost as strong as it was before decay started.

Cerec

Ceramic reconstruciton step by step

Step 1

The defective filling and decay is removed. A reflective powder prepares the tooth for imaging.

Step 2

An optical 3D image is acquired with a small camera, directly in your mouth.
The restoration is created on the computer screen using the image data.
Diamond coated instruments mill a ceramic block to reproduce the design.
This is accomplished during a single appointment using Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacture (CAD/CAM).

Step 3

After polishing, the new restoration fits precisely.
A unique light hardens the bonding material, uniting porcelain and tooth.
Polish or glazing ensures a plesantly smooth and natural feel.
The colour and appearance make the special ceramic material blend with your tooth.
Perfectly bonded porcelain ensures an extremelt long life for your teeth.
Maximum strenght and great looks!.
